I have been power washing the past few days and i have found the exercise quite meditative. the slow steady movement is relaxing and invites me to enjoy the present plus the instant gratification of washing away the muck that collects in all the grooves and pits over time. Any activity has the potential to become meditative it is more of an internal disposition than an external proposition. God will consistently meet us where we are open to meeting Him.

I have to say—though I hope to never have to do it again for a living—that janitorial work and cleaning are particularly conducive to meditation and reflection. You might technically be right about the irrelevance of external disposition, but somehow staring into a computer monitor and the various other aspects of the white collar grind seem mostly distracting. In fact, the issue might easily be explained in terms of this other work infringing on internal space—or something like that.
In the case you describe, I can imagine (based on similar experiences) that the flowing water helps. Water is awesomeness. Deep calls to deep.
